About us

Our mission is to inspire a love for nature and promote sustainable living through active community engagement and educational outreach.

Situated along the beautiful coast and the historic path to Seafield Tower, our primary activities take place at the stunning Seafield Beach. Over the years, we have dedicated ourselves to transforming this local treasure. Our efforts include regular beach clean-ups and the introduction of amenities such as a picnic park, an information board that provides updates on water quality and tides, and initiatives to enhance local biodiversity.

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the support of our community, Seafield Beach has proudly received multiple Beach Awards from Keep Scotland Beautiful since 2018. These accolades reflect our commitment to maintaining the beauty and health of our coastal environment.

As we look to the future, we are excited to announce the launch of our new website in early 2025. This platform will serve as a central hub for all our activities and initiatives, featuring up-to-date information on our projects, upcoming events, and opportunities for community involvement.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to Seafield Environmental Group. Explore our site to learn more about how you can make a difference with us!

RECENT ACTIVITIES

hIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH

Embracing Sustainability: The 100 Species Project

Last year, our community project took a significant step towards promoting environmental consciousness through the creative reuse of materials. In collaboration with Edinburgh Shoreline, we embarked on the 100 Species Project, an initiative designed to spotlight the rich biodiversity along the Edinburgh coast through art.

One of our standout pieces, crafted entirely from recycled materials, was displayed at the prestigious Fisheries Museum in Anstruther. This artwork not only represents the versatility and beauty of repurposed items but also highlights the importance of conservation efforts in marine environments.

The piece, a testament to both artistic ingenuity and environmental responsibility, served as a poignant reminder of the interconnectedness of human activities and marine health. It was part of a broader exhibition aimed at raising awareness about local wildlife and the urgent need to protect our seas from pollution.

This photo captures the intricate details and the thoughtful composition of our artwork, reflecting our community’s commitment to sustainability and creativity. It stands as a proud example of how art can convey powerful messages about conservation and inspire change.
